Manuel Antonio National Park
A small slice of Mother Nature's Heaven, Costa Rica, the smallest country on the entire American Continent, boasts an amazing 5% of the World´s biodiversity.  Located in Central America, Costa Rica serves as the bridge between the South American and North American land masses.  Manuel Antonio National Park is home to at least 364 species of mammals, reptiles, birds, insects and marine life, both the common and the endangered, as well as numerous species of flora & fauna.  When exploring the park, visitors are treated to an abundant variety of eco-systems and exotic wildlife. Cathedral Point, with its forest topped cliffs, was once an island, but is now connected to the coastline by a thin strip of land. This natural land bridge forms the narrow stretch that separates the parks two most popular beaches, Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio.  The varied environment also includes primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamp, lagoons and extensive beach vegetation, as well as featuring other popular points such as the blow hole at Puerto Escondido and the sea caves along Serrucho Point. There are also 12 islands off the coast, which provide excellent refuge for rare and endangered sea birds and represent an important nesting site for the Brown Booby and the Brown Pelican. To date, 364 species have been discovered in the park, including 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds, as well as an incredible variety of insects and reptiles, and rare possibilities to see the huge endangered Oliver Ridley and Green Marine Turtles.  Hightly trained and professional guides are available to lead guests through the extensive park trail system, showing and teaching you the wonders of this marvel of nature, highlighted by sightings and pictures taken through their telescopes.  A must do!
Beyond the park, the nearby Port of Quepos offers world-class Sportfishing, with bragging rights for some 17 IGFA records.

Quepos
World Class Fishing at its best! The offshore reefs offer abundant billfish, the most popular choice for most anglers.  Fisherman are rarely disappointed from as early as December and continuing through April, although fishing is excellent year round. A typical day of offshore fishing can consist of releasing many sailfish, as well as a marlin or two, although it is not uncommon to release more than a dozen sailfish in any single day. Throughout the year, you can also expect to catch dolphin, giant yellowfin tuna, wahoo, cubera, roosterfish, a variety of snapper, grouper, both blue and rainbow runners, snook, jacks, mackerel, and many other species. With more than 70 current IGFA world-record fish from Costa Rican waters, including 17 all-tackle recognitions, your ultimate fishing vacation is waiting for you right in the Quepos-Manuel Antonio area.  Boats of all sizes and amenities can easily be arranged for you during your visit, so don't miss out on the big one!

Restaurants
Choose from a wide variety of culinary choices guaranteed to satisfy even the most sophisticated palates.  Whether you prefer a typical Costa Rican meal, take out pizza, Sports Bar munchies, casual dining, family friendly fare, or a romantic dinner prepared by some of the best local chefs, Manuel Antonio and Quepos has a little bit of everything for everybody.  We are happy to share our personal favorites with you during your visit!

Nightlife
Although not the main reason anyone should choose this destination, Manuel Antonio and Quepos offer several Casino locations, as well as regular live musical performances at local restaurants and bars.  Many establishments offer free latin dance lessons, kareoke, and ladies night too, as well as an active gay friendly community and specialty bars.

Business Center Options
For those properties that do not offer an internet connection, guests can find many Internet Cafes conveniently located throughout Manuel Antonio and Quepos, as well as complimentary wireless connections in many food establishments.  Dial-up cards are also available for purchase for both long distance calls and instant internet connections.

Banking
US Dollars, as well as the Costa Rican Colon are readily accepted in all parts of Costa Rica.  Travelers checks are accepted in limited establishments, with a reduced exchange rate.  Some banks will also accept Euros if in pristine condition, again at a lower exchange rate. Credit cards are also accepted in most (but not all) establishments, with Visa being the preferred card in this country.  There are five banks in the local area, most all offering 24 hour ATM service and International money exchange.

Tipping
One of the first questions asked by visitors.  Although not expected, Tipping is always appreciated in Costa Rica.  Rarely will you tip a taxi driver, guides are generally tipped $5-$20 per person depending on the tour and their service.  Housekeepers are generally tipped $5.00 per day, or more if they do extra services such as washing your clothes and cleaning all dishes.  House managers/concierges generally receive around $5 per day, per person, naturally depending on the size and the amount of assistance your group required.  Most vacation rental workers earn more of their salary off your tips, so please keep that in mind when check out time rolls around!
